def: The separate “I” I believe myself to be. My identity.
Anytime I think “I,” I’m in ego.
It can be a useful imaginary construct for navigating the world (“I” will meet “you” at 6 pm), but never lose sight of the fact that it IS an imaginary construct.
So when my ego is causing me suffering (“I” cannot endure “this” or “them”), I can question the idea that I have a separate existence with a past and a future.
And remember that all is one. Now.
