One of the surest ways for me to suffer is to be sure I’m right.

One of the surest ways for me to suffer is to be sure I’m right.

When I’m sure I’m right and the world doesn’t go along, I am susceptible to the belief that I need things to be different than they are. And so I suffer. And when I’m suffering, I get frustrated, agitated, indignant. I fret. I lecture. I demand. I yell. I fight.

But the universe is always giving me everything I need, so where is the problem?

It’s in being sure I’m right.

But how do I let go of being sure I’m right when I’m sure I’m right?!

My suffering will always show me.

When I think I’m right and I’m suffering, I’m wrong about being right.

100% of the time.

Because rightness is 100% peaceful.

100% of the time.

That’s what makes it right.

If I’m suffering at all it’s because I’m innocently mistaken about something. I’m confused.

So I’ve got my signal.

And my work is to identify where I’m confused and then go in search of the Truth. Often it’s waiting for me in a simple shift in perspective.

When I find the truth I’ll have perfect peace. That’s how I’ll know I’ve found it.

Until I lose it again.

And then I can just go find it again

And again.

And again.
