Perfect def: Incapable of falling short of my expectations.
Imperfect def: Capable of falling short of my expectations.
The distinction between “perfect” and “imperfect” is a purely human imaginary distinction. There is no such distinction in reality. It’s just the result of the expectations I generate in my mind.
When something never fails to meet my expectations, I call it “perfect.”
When something can fail to live up to my expectations, I call it “imperfect.”
Nothing is perfect …unless I always expect it to be exactly as it is.
And when I do that, I experience perfection.
When I stop trying to “improve” things and learn how to love what is, I unlock perfection.
But only until I think, “I’ve unlocked perfection!” and start preferring perfection to imperfection.
Then I’m back to where things can fall short of my expectations and the work to unlock perfection can begin again.
