I try to be kind and then I look outside myself for signs that I have been kind. The problem is, when I look outside myself, depending on whose perspective I take, I will always be able to find a perspective where I’m not kind. Always.
But all I can “know” about anyone’s perspective is what I think and believe about it. All anyone can “know” about me is what they think and believe about me. So no one outside me can tell me for certain whether or not I have been kind. The truth of what I am is deeper than thought and can only be found inside my own quiet, non-striving wisdom prior to any story of a “me.”
I try to be _____. I look outside myself for signs that I have been _____. The problem is, that when I look outside myself, depending on whose perspective I take, I will always be able to find a perspective where I’m not _____. Always.
