It’s not unspiritual to ask for what I want.

“I‘m not going to fool myself that I’m not spiritual if I say “Would you please leave my snack alone?” I can ask. I’m not going to assume anything. I’m just not attached to his response. Either he will or he won’t.

“There are no do’s or don’ts. Inquiry is about the end of suffering

“I can never make a claim to not be free where I am free. And to me it’s freedom to ask anything of anyone and then trust that they’ll say yes or no. [Which will always be the right answer.]

“Freedom isn’t what we think it’s going to look like. It’s just a natural flow. It’s like, “I know I can afford to be happy because I know that there is only this precious place of no past and no future.”

“And the work gives us that so solidly eventually that we no longer have to guess. It’s proven over and over and over.

“Things will change eventually. We don’t even have to bring them about.”
