The virus isn’t “bad.”

A friend suggested that maybe COVID-19 is the earth’s antibodies fighting the virus that is us:

If that thought brings you a feeling of joy and peace and connection with all things, I’d say it’s true. If not, I’d question it.

In terms of antibodies...

I don’t think there’s anti-anything. Everything just is. Everything is in balance. The way waves are in balance: crests and troughs here-and-there (are the crests good and the troughs bad?), constantly moving, spreading and cancelling-out, always summing to zero. We are part of that balance and the virus is part of that balance, neither one the body, neither one the antibody. Neither one even the main character of the story. Both just apparent parts of a whole (I say “apparent parts” because it’s a whole that cannot, in reality, be divided into parts).

The world needs no protection. It operates according to a miraculous and mysterious set of laws (i.e. of physics, etc.), free of judgment and uncontrollable, despite our fantasies of control.
