Perfectionism concerning others is tyranny. And I don’t want to live in tyranny.

When I tell myself that my leaders, my significant other, children, my siblings, my parents, my friends, my teammates, my employees, my customers and followers and neighbors must get everything right from my perspective in order to qualify for my love and support, I am being a tyrant: I am requiring the impossible and then punishing people for failing to accomplish it.

And when I do that, I live under my own tyranny because I subconsciously communicate to myself that my OWN human imperfections justify punishment.

No one can win when I hold this standard, least of all me.

I have no desire to live in tyranny. I want to live in a world filled with love and support.

And I can.

All I have to do is recognize that “the world” is my state of mind experienced, fill it with my love and support and live free from tyranny in the loving, supportive world that follows.
