I do not need common ground.

As much as I think I want it (can I absolutely know that it’s true that I want common ground?), I do NOT need it (unless I have it).

Every time I’ve ever wanted someone to know I was on their side and they thought I was against them, I was okay.

I do not need to fight to be understood. I find that when I fight to be understood, I am FIGHTING, which puts me at odds with the person I’m trying to connect with.

If I really want to be on someone’s side, I can love that they see me how they see me, even if they think I’m against them.

THAT’s connection.
